TEAK DECKING & FLOORING BOARDS, T&G

Natural chemicals and organic compounds in teak contribute to this wood’s unique characteristics. It is no wonder that teak has been a highly prized wood for centuries!
Famously, teak is resistant to pests.
O-cresyl methyl ether is a chemical found in the wood. To insects, this chemical is repulsive. Teak wooden products are therefore less likely to be eaten by beetles, bores, and other insects. Quinones are organic compounds that also add to the special properties of teak wood. Tectoquinone enhances resistance specifically against termites. Para-naphthoquinone makes the wood resistant to fungi. These natural defenses mean that teak is a wood that excels for a range of applications, such as flooring.

TEAK DECKING & FLOORING BOARDS GROOVED ON EDGES

Teak wood’s tight grain structure and high oil content are responsible for its renowned moisture resistance.
The dense grain prevents water from permeating into the wood and water is actively repelled by the natural oils.
In other types of wood, water is more likely to absorb and cause the wood to swell. Absorbed water contributes to rotting and decay, problems which are avoided with teak.
The natural beauty of teak, combined with its durability, makes it an ideal choice for both residential and commercial decking solutions. The rich golden hues and unique grain patterns of teak create a stunning visual impact, while its inherent properties ensure longevity and minimal maintenance.
